Lake Conway Wipeout was started in 2010 by a few friends who enjoy water, boats, and laughter.  After watching ABC-TV’s hit show Wipeout one night, a Facebook conversation turned into brainstorming our own version of Wipeout.

2014 marks the event’s fifth year, and it has grown from a few boating friends to over 300 boats and over 1,000 spectators.  The 5th annual Lake Conway Wipeout will take place Saturday, July 26th, 2014, from noon until 5:00pm at the sandbar on Lake Conway in Orlando.  The event is only accessible by boat, but Lake Conway does have public boat ramps.

Our crews will set up an inflatable obstacle course at Lake Conway’s sandbar and participants run the course to see who gets the best time.  It is a great family event and kids-only run the course the first two hours of the event.  Come out and laugh at your friends and family bouncing off an inflatable obstacle course on the water. We have great prizes for the winners too!

* Registration for children 8-15 starts at 10:30am until spots are filled. Everyone under 18 needs to have a legal parent or guardian present to sign their waiver form or check in. Also, must walk along the outside of the course with that child!!!!

* Registration for adults 16-up starts at 12:30pm until spots are filled. Again, anyone under 18 needs a legal parent or guardian present to sign the waiver or check in even though you are in the adult category.

* Children 8-15 will run the course from 12pm to 2pm, adults 16-up will run the course from 2:30pm to 4:30pm.

* Award Ceremony is at 4:45pm

The public ramp for Lake Conway is located on Hoffner Ave just east of Orange Ave. The sand bar is at the East side of Big Lake Conway. Check the Facebook page for updates and maps for the ramp and sandbar locations.

The event is free, but we ask you to donate via the following link the proceeds go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to help wipeout blood cancers.

*Important Notice: This event is only accessible by boat. All of the shoreline near the event is private property. Anyone trespassing will be prosecuted. The shoreline and streets around the event will be monitored by local authorities, and any cars parked illegally will be towed.

Things To Do Orlando: Westgate River Ranch Rodeo

Eight seconds may not seem like a long time, but when you’re watching a bull rider trying to stay on a bucking bull, it seems like an eternity. Be mesmerized by the excitement and unpredictable danger of the Saturday Night Rodeo at Westgate River Ranch for an evening of family fun at the 1,200-seat rodeo arena. This fun-filled weekly rodeo draws rodeo athletes from all over to compete in trick riding, barrel racing and, of course, bull riding. The rodeo is a guest favorite as you get the opportunity to view talented contestants and also enjoy a patriotic tribute to our armed forces. In addition to enjoying the rodeo spectacle, little cowpokes can participate in a real “calf scramble” where boys and girls try to remove a ribbon from a calf’s tail. The first one to get the ribbon receives the prize! The fun doesn’t stop once the rodeo ends! If you feel bull riding isn’t that tough, take a spin on our new Mechanical Bull. Or get your feet moving to the lively Dance Party just outside the River Ranch Saloon where you’ll hear music and games from a lively DJ to end a perfect day.

Walt Disney World is hosting a food truck rally in Downtown Disney’s West Side Saturday, June 21.

Disney’s first food truck rally will gather Disney-built trucks as well as local favorites such as Yum Yum Cupcake Truck and La Empanada from 5-10 p.m. Saturday, June 21 at Downtown Disney’s West Side.

Fourteen trucks are participating including the four Downtown Disney food trucks, and the ESPN food truck. The event is a joint venture with Mark Baratelli’s Orlando Food Truck Bazaar.

Look for the feast on wheels on the event lawn near House of Blues and Cirque du Soleil. Best parking is in  lots O, P and Q behind Cirque du Soleil, via entrance 5. Pluto and Goofy are welcome but your pets are not.

Come out and see real cowboys in Orlando at the 133rd Silver Spur Rodeo!  Get your heart pumping as you cheer on the bull riders and bronco riders.  The barrel racers will have you on the edge of your seat as they use their razor-sharp relaxes to maneuver their horse through the course.  There will be a little something for everyone including Bull Riding, Barrel, Racing and Roping.  Florida has a long history of cowboys and they had their own unique way of herding the cows over the terrain of central Florida.  The Rodeo is a fun way to watch the cowboys use their roping and cow handling skills to control the cows.
