365 Orlando: 59. Silver Spurs Rodeo

Cowboys are taking over the Spurs Arena in Orlando for the 125th Silver Spurs Rodeo. Take your little buckaroo to enjoy bull riding, steer wrestling, saddle bronco riding, bareback riding, and barrel racing. And the  crowds favorites the cowboy clowns. The rodeo started back in 1941 with a group of people who shared a common love of horseback riding. This event grew in popularity to the become the rodeo it is today.

So lasso yourself some tickets for the Rodeo held on June 5th & 6th and head on down to the Spurs Arena in Orlando.

 

365 Orlando: 58. Take a Ride on Lake Eola in a Swan Paddle Boat

Take the family on a ride in a Swan-shapped paddle boat on Lake Eola in Downtown Orlando. You can spend the day enjoying the outdoors at this wonderful 43 acre downtown park. There is also a newly reconstructed playground which is divided into two sections based on age. The playground features state-of-the art play equipment, rubber surfacing, and comfortable seating for parents. After you have paddled in played you may wish to sit on one of the many benches that line the lake and relax with a good book.

You can bring a lunch to enjoy at the park. Enjoy the day at Lake Eola in Downtown Orlando.

365 Orlando: 57. SNAP! Celebrate the Photograph

snapSpend 4-days in Downtown Orlando experiencing a celebration of photography by renowned international and national photographers at SNAP. You will also be able to experience images from emerging local talent. There will be works of art from more than 50 artists and the event will also include: artist appearances; photograph workshops and seminars; VIP parties; community art projects; performance art, and cross-over events. This event is going on in Downtown Orlando on May 20-23, 2010.

These exhibits will span dozen of art galleries, cafés, boutiques and pop-up exhibition spaces in Downtown Orlando.

365 Orlando: 56 Dining At the Queen Victoria Room

Dining aficionados celebrated when the Queen Victoria Room debuted in January at Victoria and Albert’s in Orlando’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa.

Set aside from the main dining room, the Queen Victoria Room features four tables that will be served the chef’s table menu for that evening. The chef’s table’s bill of fare is always different from the food served in the main dining room. Restaurant manager Israel Perez promises attention to your every whim.

Bob Marley – A Tribute To Freedom is Orlando’s celebration of reggae music and culture. Located at Universal Studio’s City Walk, it is an authentic replica of Marley’s home in Kingston Jamaica commemorating the “King of Reggae’s” international fame and Jamaican heritage. Lush greenery and artifacts from Marley’s legendary career surround guests in an open air veranda and courtyard. Over 100 photographs and paintings reflect pivotal moments in Marley’s life.

365 Orlando: 52. Swing Through the Tree Tops at Monkey Trunks

Spend the afternoon getting your heart pumping at the Orlando Adventure Course at Monkey Trunks. There are two exciting courses that offer over 35 unique aerial walkways. These walkways range from 15 feet to 50 feet in the air! The great thing about these courses is you will be able to move at your own pace and stay in the air your entire time. Once you are ready to get down you will have 3 different options, you can Zip, Swing or take the stairs.

The Exploration Course is a great way to start your adventure at only 15-feet above the ground with two different routes to choose from. Each course has it’s own different challenges including our 150-feet dueling zip lines! This course offers a saftey system designed to allow children from the ages of 5 and up to explore!

The other course is the Discovery Course is a three level structure that is a towering 55-feet in the sky! Once you ascend you will be able to choose your own pathways to create your own unique experience. This course boast two 600-foot zip lines and a 40-foot Giant’s Swing.

Check out Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon in Orlando for a day of relaxing in lazy river, splashing in the huge wave pool or watching the kids play in the kiddie area. This water park has something for everyone in the family with body slides, snorkeling with live fish, a water coaster and a Surf Pool where you can catch a 6-foot wave. This park also offers snorkeling at Shark Reef where you can snorkel with real sharks! Every half hour Miss Tilly’s boat whistles from where it sits precariously on the peak of the volcanic mountain, Mount Mayday. When the whistle blows the volcano attempts to dislodge the boat with a geyser of water.

sluethsOrlando is home to a fun evening out with Sleuth’s Mystery Dinner Show. Show your investigative skills to help the outrageous slueths dinnercharacters that mingle with the guest. You may even be chosen for a cameo role in the show. These shows will keep you laughing with it’s improvisations and audience participation. Be prepared to stay on the edge of your seat as you watch for anything suspicious, hear as suspects are interrogated and hopefully the crime will be solved. You will enjoy a delicious dinner and dessert with unlimited beer, wine, and soft drinks. The shows run 2-½ hours and the nightly shows feature one of the thirteen different mysteries.
