The island of Anguilla in the British West Indies has incredible wildlife and of course our favorite Cats and Dogs plus beautiful Caribbean Real Estate!!

One way to grab my attention is to show me pictures of kittens and puppies! Rarely have I met a little creature I didn’t love at first sight. So you can imagine my enthusiasm when I realized that there is an animal rescue league on Anguilla. It is called AARF and that stands for Anguilla Animal Rescue Foundation. The purpose of the foundation, which has been in existence only since 2000, is to promote, develop and assist in the humane treatment and care of animals in Anguilla.

In 2005, 150 cats and dogs were adopted out. Animals are taken into Morlens Veterinary Hospital where they stay for 10 days awaiting and hoping for a family. For $20 in US currency, a dog or cat gets spayed or neutered, tested for diseases, dewormed, given and flea and tick bath and receives its first vaccinations. This program has a wonderful website http://www.aarf.ai/

There on loads of pictures posted on the web of cats and dogs adopted through this foundation and each is cuter than the next! The Anguilla Top Team (Teri Isner, Eileen Wilson and Tammy Martinez) can help you with all your real estate needs and we have a great website, too. It is http://www.come2anguilla.com We feature one of the magnificent villas for sale on the Island which we are fortunate to represent La Dolce Vita.  Another beautiful vill that has just come to our attention is called Exclusivity.  Our website features that villa too.   Don’t miss all the wonderful pictures of both on the website.  If you know anyone who wants to own a piece of paradise we are just a phone call away.

On Anguilla, there are so many different kinds of dogs they are given special names: the Anguillian Long Dog is one!

Now I am having a fantasy!  I and the Anguilla Top Team stay on Anguilla, rescue some adorable dogs, and live near the white powdery sand and the calm turquoise water happily and forever!

Anguillan Currency

Facts about Anguillan currency exchange and atm services while visiting Anguilla in the Caribbean.

Facts about Anguillan currency exchange and atm services while visiting Anguilla in the Caribbean.

Sometimes, even in the midst of beautiful, white powdery beaches and turquoise waters, sometimes even in the midst of being pampered to the extreme – you need cash! The Anguilla Top Team, has often found that cash event happening to them, and I have, too!

Money in Anguilla is easy. Banknotes are called the East Caribbean Dollar. One East Caribbean Dollar equals 100 cents and is printed as 1EC$. Bank notes are issued in 1,5,10,20,50 and 100 dollar denominations, just as in The United States. The East Caribbean Dollar has a picture of Queen Elizabeth on the front and the back of the bill has a representation of the Island. Currency is printed in attractive and colorful inks. (You can find more on currency at encylopedia caribbean money).

US currency is accepted on Anguilla. The Anguilla Top Team is always on the lookout for ATMs and there are several on the island. We have noticed them located at Wallblake Airport, The National Bank, Caribbean Commercial Bank, and Scotia Bank. (The National Bank of Anguilla Ltd. has a website which provides many interesting financial facts such as the length of time needed for a check to clear.  Check out other financial facts about finance options in Anguilla)

I, and the rest of The Anguilla Top Team, can help you with all of your real estate needs. Our own website has more details and contains much information. This website features one of the luxurious villas on this beautiful island and one which, it is our privilege, to offer for sale. Come2Anguilla and remember to bring your passport!

Orlando Florida International Airport also known as MCO

June 2nd, 2006 by tisner

This is the Orlando Florida International Airport gateway to Central Florida’s top travel destinations including Disney, Universal, Sea World and the Kennedy Space Center.

This is the Orlando Florida International Airport gateway to Central Florida’s top travel destinations including Disney, Universal, Sea World and the Kennedy Space Center.

The Orlando Avenue Top Team thought a good place to start our blog on travel and tourism would be right at the beginning – at the airport. After all, Central Florida is one of the top travel destinations in the world. To brag a little – Disney World, Universal Studios and Universal Islands of Adventure, and Sea World Orlando are all located right here in Orlando and The Kennedy Space Center is just a short drive away.

If you don’t live here, you have to get here, and one way to get here is by airplane. If you don’t yet live here you may soon want to and, in that case, the Orlando Avenue Top Team can help you with all your real estate needs.

The local airport serving Central and Northern Florida is called Orlando International Airport , OIA for short. It’s designation code is MCO. This airport is beautiful and it’s clean. At the Orlando Avenue Top Team, we feel it’s a pleasure to fly in and out of OIA.

This airport is very busy! It serves over 34,000,000 passengers on an annual basis and over 93,000 passengers each day. You are not the only one waking up early for a morning flight!

There are 53 airlines- from Areo-Mexico to Zoom- which serve OIA. Nearly 1,000 flights take off or land each day and some 354,000 flights arrive or depart annually. The airport is the third largest in the United States in terms of land mass – it’s consists of nearly 13,300 acres, so it is quite a big place.

None-the-less, it is easy to get around the airport. There are two large terminals, A & B, and directions for reaching them are clearly marked. It’s a pretty place with flowers and trees along the road. There’s a large parking garage at the terminals with some 9300 parking spaces and there are also satellite parking lots. Inside the terminal are many stores. The Orlando Avenue Top Team likes to shop here if we are flying in or out. We can get a meal, or a book or a Starbucks coffee, or a set of Mickey Mouse ears for a nephew.

There is also a large Hyatt Regency Hotel right on property, it is part of the terminal complex. Orlando International Airport is convenient to tourism destinations and it’s highly regarded. There are rental car agencies both on and off site. If you are coming to Orlando to look at property, the Orlando Avenue Top Team can take care of all your real estate needs. It will be our pleasure to drive you around.

When you come to Central Florida you’ll see why the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando Florida is a growing attraction

Years ago, when one of the members of The Orlando Avenue Top Team first moved to the Orlando area, she plopped her dog in the car, went for a drive, parked in a parking lot, took her dog for a walk around the Orange County Convention Center and thought how lucky she was to live in a great place where people wanted to come and visit. Now, in 2006, The Orange County Convention Center is one of the largest convention centers in the country.

At this point in time over a million and a half guests and attendees come to Orlando through the convention center. Many of them enjoy the quality of life Central Florida offers and buy a residence or a vacation home here. Teri Isner and The Orlando Avenue Top Team are real estate professionals with knowledge and wisdom and can help you with all of your real estate needs.

The OCCC is so large that it has 8 food courts! It has a total of 7 million square feet and well over 2 million square feet of exhibition space. Many exhibits are often going on at the same time.

The convention center is located on International Drive. It is surrounded by restaurants of every price, attractions and shops, and hotels from the budget-priced to the luxurious. Right Peabody across the street from the convention center is one of the famed Peabody Hotels. Recently it has acquired a new a front entrance and a new atrium and will undergo future expansion.

Other new hotels are also underway for- or have made plans to- enter this area. These include a new Hilton Hotel and the new Rosen Shingle Creek Resort and Golf Club, featuring a par 72 golf course, 9 restaurants, and 1500 luxury guests rooms and scheduled to open in fall of this year. (for more information see the official site of the Orange County Convention Center)

Traveling to Anguilla in the Eastern Caribbean

May 31st, 2006 by tisner

How to travel to Anguilla in the Eastern Caribbean so you can have a really great time.

How to travel to Anguilla in the Eastern Caribbean so you can have a really great time.

Anguilla is located in the Eastern Caribbean and, if you’re going to go there, you have to get there! Anguilla by air is one hour east of Puerto Rico and seven minutes north of Dutch St. Maarten and by public sea transportation- which means ferry – Anguilla is 20 minutes north of French St. Martin.

Teri Isner and The Anguilla Top Team, can help you with all of your real estate needs, flies into St. Martaan and then takes the ferry from St. Martin and enters another world. Anguilla is peaceful and quiet and the water is the most exquisite shade of turquoise. Because Anguilla is a little off the beaten path there are no cruise ships in sight, no tours, no shouts to buy merchandise.

Anguilla Wallblake Airport is compact and looks like the stage set of a movie classic. The designation for the airport is AXA. American Airlines flies its American Eagle into Anguilla (to check the flights that American Airlines offers). Other options are the regional carriers LIAT (for flights on LIAT Airlines available here) which flies between the islands and Caribbean Star which also runs between islands. (Flights on Caribbean Star available here)

The ferry runs every half hour or so between 7:30AM and 7 PM between Blowing Point, Anguilla and Marigot Bay , St. Martin . Ferries are also available for charter. Come visit the website of the Anguilla Top Team – The website for more information – and see how we can help you with all of your real estate needs.

Come to Anguilla – and be sure to remember your passport!

Downtown Orlando Florida new contruction projects

May 1st, 2006 by tisner

What’s new downtown Orlando Florida?

What’s new downtown Orlando Florida? Developments including Hampton Inn and Suites condo conversion and 41 other projects surrounding Lake Eola, the Orlando Science Center, Museum of Art and the CentroPlex where the Orlando Magic Play.

This is the start of a blog for Teri Isner and the Orlando Avenue Top Team. We are real estate professionals and we can help you with all of your real estate needs. My name is Teri Isner and I’m the Team Leader of the Orlando Avenue Top Team. This blog represents a group effort but, mostly, it’s mine!Downtown Orlando Skyline at dusk from Lake Eola

First of all you should know that all of us at the Orlando Avenue Top Team are in synch when we say that Orlando is a great place to live. It is simply wonderful to be in an area where so many people come to have a good time. We can share this enjoyment any day and so we consider ourselves very lucky to be here. Furthermore, some of us come from another climate – I come from way up north – so we think we are especially fortunate to live where there’s wonderful weather.

The Greater Orlando Area is very big. You can drive about an hour each way and you’re still in what’s considered Orlando . Other large cities such as Houston and Las Vegas are like that too.

Orlando consists of several counties – Orange, Osceola, Polk, Seminole, Lake and Volusia. I-4 runs through Orlando and 417 loops around. Some of us at the Orlando Avenue Top Team prefer taking 417 even though it has tolls because usually traffic moves along fast.

The center of Orlando is the City of Orlando itself. I thought this blog should start right in the center, downtown, in the city. Sometimes it’s called the Metro area. Among other attractions it has tall office buildings, the historic Church Street Station, beautiful Lake Eola, The Orlando Science Center, the Orlando Art Museum and, of course, the arena where the basketball team The Orlando Magic play. The city has something for everyone and business in the city is booming.

Recently, huge investments have been made in the city. According to a related article in the Orlando Business Journal, 41 projects are either proposed for downtown or are already under construction and they have a value of over $1.5 billion.

Here is the list of the 41 projects proposed.

One project recently announced in the Orlando Sentinel is Capital Plaza III.

This is the announcement of Capital Plaza III

This project calls for a 150-room Hampton Inn & Suites, a 13-story condo tower and a 15-story office tower. The proposal also calls for up to 15,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space. Construction is slated to begin this year and the project is valued at $100 million.

Become part or the continuing downtown revitalization and development of the City of Orlando . The Orlando Avenue Top Team can

MT. EVEREST EXPEDITION IN FLORIDA IS NOT AN APRIL FOOLS BUT EXISTS AT DISNEY ANIMAL KINGDOM PLUS OPENING NEW 429 ACCESS TO DISNEY

April 1st, 2006 by tisner

Mt Everest Expedition addition to Disney’s Animal Kingdomin Orlando Florida is coming soon.

Mt Everest Expedition addition to Disney’s Animal Kingdom in Orlando Florida is coming soon.

Disney's Expedition EverestAs one whose idea of a fun ride is the carousel, perhaps I am not the one to tell you that the new Animal Kingdom ride, Expedition Everest, is set to open this Friday…but I will. The new ride is described as a ‘family thrill ride’ and combines some tricks and turns from favorite coasters Space Mountain and Big Thunder Railroad while adding the special Disney Imagineering magic of its own.

The Expedition Everest coaster features a runaway train spiraling, dropping 80 feet, and running backwards through the dark, Disney's Expedition Everestall the while escaping a mythical creature guarding the mountains. Everest, tall and stately and snow-covered, looms large in the Animal Kingdom and there’s a new mountain village of Serka Zong, looking appropriately aged and weather distressed.

I can assure you I will not go on the Expedition Everest ride! I have never even been on Space Mountain!

In a related thought…the new entrance to Walt Disney World is scheduled to open April 4th. This is a four-lane divided boulevard called the Western Way. It will let you all come through Florida’s Turnpike without having to go on I-4. This road will connect with the roads that are close to Disney’s Animal Kingdom…and the roller coaster! Have fun!
