365 Orlando 98. Try Hang Gliding at Wallaby Ranch

Learn how to hang glide just outside of Orlando at Wallaby Ranch. They offer instruction for first timers and even veterans love to come to here and practice with the latest tandem aerotowing techniques. You can start out on a tandem discovery flight where you will be aerotowed to 2,000 feet then released so you can free-fly for 15-20 minutes, during this flight you will be instructed on how to control the glider, with your instructor right at your side. With this type of instruction you will become comfortable with flying before you are ever sent up to solo fly. For your first few flights your instructor will take off and land the glider but as you progress you will allowed more control over your flight. And eventually you will be taking off and landing with out the instructor having to do anything.
This wonderful ranch offers so much more for the hang gliding enthusiast, like tent and RV camping facilities. They offer a freshly prepared community breakfast and lunch, a swimming pool, a climbing wall, and a children’s playground. Bring your bike because the ranch has mountain bike trails that wind through the woods. The entire family will enjoy this hang gliding experience.

365 Orlando 97. Orlando Skydiving

skydiving-parachute-16-thumbExperience the feeling of floating through the air with exceptional views of Orlando at Orlando Skydiving.  The friendly staff at Orlando Skydiving will get you trained and certified to experience skydiving.  There are two different options for experiencing your first skydive.  You can tandem skydive where you will be given training that is usually less than an hour.  Then you will be with your instructor for your entire jump.  You will free fall for 60 seconds then you have a 7 to 9 minute canopy ride. skydive

For the more adventurous you can train for the Accelerated Free Fall, which is the most advanced method of training.  This type of jump requires 4 to 6 hours of training that will teach you the fundamentals of skydiving.  After your class you will be able to jump with a USPA rated AFF jump master who will assist you in your freefall.  Once the main canopy is open you will be assisted via radio as you control your descent back to the drop zone. 

Either one of these options will leave you will an exhilarating ride back to earth.  Enjoy your time floating through the air at 10,000 and the exceptional views of Orlando

365 Orlando: 91. Visit Fort Christmas Historical Park

Take in a bit of Orlando history this summer at Fort Christmas Historical Park. This park is home to seven historically restored homes that preserve the ‘Cracker’ architecture of East Orange County. You will be taken through history starting in the 1870’s up to the 1930’s of pioneer life in Florida. Things highlighted on your visit are homesteading, cattle, citrus, hunting, fishing and trapping. There are also artifacts of Seminole weapons, clothing, pioneer tools and other household items. The homes show home the people of this era lived on a daily basis. You will be interested to know that the fort was named because the soldiers arrived on December 25, 1837 to begin building the fort. The fort was built during the Second Seminole Indian War. You can even take home replicas of pioneer life which are available in the gift shop.

Come out and walk thru part of Orlando’s history in this full size exhibit.
