Florida Thunderstorms Bring Relief From the Heat
September 6th, 2006 by tisnerThe Sunshine State gets lots of summer rain – and lightening, too.
From late spring until early fall, Central Florida gets a lot of downpours. Clouds gather, storms form, rain pours down and, a few minutes later, the sun comes out again. Beautiful, Florida sun! But do you know- Central Florida is also considered the Lightening Capital of the Country?
Often you can look around quickly and see five or six different lightening strikes seeming to happen at the same time. Lightening is beautiful – but Beware! Lightening is very dangerous. The National Weather Service has prepared a page of lightening information of which you should be aware.
The real estate agents of The Orlando Avenue Top Team bring this important information to your attention. If you are outside and you hear thunder – get inside. Seek safe shelter. If you hear thunder you are within distance of a strike. Once the thunder quiets down – stay sheltered for the next 30 minutes. Lightening is still around.
