365 Orlando 143. Check out the KSA Rodeo

Find real cowboys right in Orlando at the Kissimmee Sports Arena this Saturday at 7pm.  Florida has along history of cowboys and they had their own unique way of herding the cows over the terrain of central Florida.  During the rodeo the cowboys will using roping and cow handling skills to control the cows.  Some of the exciting events you will see are bareback bronc riding, barrel racing, red bull riding, Roy Rogers team roping, and other rodeo events. 

Enjoy the excitement this weekend in Orlando at the KSA Rodeo on Saturday.  This is a great event of the entire family.

365 Orlando 142. Go Shopping at Renningers Antiques Center in Mt. Dora

This weekend head out to Mt. Dora and find some great stuff at Renningers Antique Center. Just a short drive from Orlando you will find the best antique shopping in Florida.  You will be able to visit more than 180 shops in the comfort of air-conditioning.  The antique center has been featured on HGTV.  This is a great stop for any collector with so many different dealers in one place you are sure to find what you collect.  And if antique furniture is what you are looking for then this is the place you need to look.  There are also shops that offer repairs of antique items, from radios to jewelry. 

Spend your Saturday hunting for great antiques at the Renningers Antique Center near Orlando.  Don’t forget to stop by the Flea Market for unique items and fresh fruits and vegetables.

365 Orlando 141. Shakira at Amway Arena

Shakira is brining her 2010 Global Tour to Orlando on September 28th at 8pm.  Head on down to Amway Arena for a night filled with rhythmic music and the beautiful voice of Shakira.  The concert will be one that everyone will be talking about for weeks to come.  Shakira is the highest-selling Colombian artist of all time.  Her music has been on the Billboard Hot 100 and even has star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame. 

She is bringing her talent to Orlando for one night in September so don’t miss this entertaining show at Amway Arena.

365 Orlando 140. Enjoy the Shops on Park Avenue in Winter Garden

In the town of Winter Garden near Orlando you will find 10 tree-lined city blocks full of unique stores that make this a shopping adventure.  On Park Avenue you will find national retailers like Ann Taylor, right beside specialty shops like Chocolate Connoisseur, Partridge Tree, Fairy Tales and many others.  Pick up flowers for dinner at the Flower Market or at Bliss on Park Avenue. 

After spending the morning shopping stop for lunch at one of the many open –air cafes.  Some of the dining options are Luma on Park, Park Plaza Garden and Bosphorus.  Do some amazing shopping right in the Orlando area on Park Avenue in Winter Garden.

365 Orlando 139. Play a round at Royal St. Cloud Golf Links

Feel like you are playing at the British Open right in the Orlando area at Royal St. Cloud Golf Links.  Pick your favorite nine they offer 3 different nine hole courses.  The Red Nine has been changed to be more player-friendly, and the Blue and White have also been improved to make it feel like you are playing in the British Isles.  After you have played 36 holes, it’s time to sit back and relax at The New Stone Bridge Tavern & Grill.  The Grill offers classic American food and drink in an atmosphere that makes you want to rehash that last putt.  If you think your game could use some improving then you might want to take advance of the classes taught at the course.  At the Royal Golf Learning Center you will be taught by PGA Golf Professionals.  They will tailor your lessons to help improve your skills. 

Feel like you are spending some time across the pond with out having to leave Orlando at the Royal St. Cloud.

365 Orlando 138. See a Tribute to Fred Astaire at the Winter Park Playhouse

Enjoy a night of song and dance in tribute to Fred Astaire at the Winter Park Playhouse.  Roy Allen created and choreographed this wonderful show and also plays Fred Astaire.  It’s said that this will be the last engagement here in Orlando.  You don’t want to miss this fun evening that is in true to the man.  Astaire’s sister tells the story as they recreated famous dance numbers.  There is even a younger version of Fred and his sister to show the progression of his career. 

This wonderful production takes us back to a simpler more romantic time when dance was all the rage and everyone loved your “Funny Face”.  Round up some friends for a great night out in Orlando to see “Let’s Face the Music a Tribute to Fred Astaire”.

365 Orlando 137. Captain a Pontoon Boat

Explore the Orlando wildlife from the comfort of a pontoon boat with Adventure Lakes of Orlando.  Kick back and relax while you soak up the natural beauty of the Orlando area lakes.  They offer rentals for ½ day, or full day to fit your family’s needs.  Pack your lunch and eat out on the lake while you look for turtles, wild boar, alligators, and many different types of birds. To get the full adventure experience make sure you visit Makinson Island State Park.  It’s a good thing you will be captaining a pontoon boat because the only way to reach this State Park is by boat.  Once on the island there are walking trails where you will be able to see turkey, deer, wild boar, goats and other wildlife. 

After you have seen all the wildlife you think is out there you can try your hand at fishing.  The lakes are teaming with largemouth bass.  Just don’t’ for get to pick up a fishing license and bait before you leave land.  All the boats come with two adult fishing rods and one child rod

This is a nice and peaceful way to truly explore and enjoy the wild side of Orlando.

310 lakesideSpend a romantic evening by Lake Eola in Downtown Orlando, enjoying a wonderful dinner at 310 Lakeside.  They offer “New American” cuisine that includes Gator tale, filet mignon, N.Y. strip, roasted duck, pasta dishes, and sandwiches.  On nice evenings you can sit outside and enjoy the lake views.  On Thursday nights they host live music with dancing and late night happy hour.  The restaurant offers a wonderful Brunch on Sundays will many delicious choices. 

Head down to Downtown Orlando for a great time by Lake Eola at 310 Lakeside.

365 Orlando 135. Get back to Nature at PegHorn Nature Park and Trail

peghornOrlando offers some wonderful opportunities to experience nature, PegHorn Natural Park and Trail are a passive park that offers just that.  This is a 58-acre park that will take you on a journey through Florida’s past, starting with a Cracker Village.  They have worked to preserve the history of this area through this Village with an old wooden schoolhouse, a cannery, a blacksmith shed, and a barn.  After you have experience the Village let your children take some time out with the natural playground that’s all around.  The park also offers two walking trails that will take you out into the wetlands. 

When you get back from your hike go to the Education Center and learn more about what you can do to help preserve our heritage and protect the environment.  Spend a great day enjoying the natural beauty of Orlando.

Have Lobster in Orlando this weekend at the great Boston Lobster Feast.  The all you can eat buffet offers more than 60 items that include shrimp, clams, crawfish, oysters, lobster bisque, smoked salmon, vegetables, and let’s not forget all the Maine lobster you can eat.  If the buffet seems like too much you can order off the menu from a variety of dinner options.  Owner Jeff started Boston Lobster Feast to fill a Maine Lobster void in the Orlando area.  Now there are two locations one on International Drive and other is in Kissimmee so one is never too far away.
