Want to learn more about local farming around the Orlando area? Then head over to Winter Park on November 20th for the Harvest Festival held at Central Park’s West Meadow. There will be a farmers’ market where you will be able to shop from local farmers for your Thanksgiving dinner supplies. Learn more about organic gardening at the workshop sessions being offered at the festival. There will also be cooking demonstrations at the Park Ave. Williams Sonoma store, where you can learn how to prepare different dishes.
The kids will enjoy the youth focused sessions and games going on during the day. They will also be able to have hands on experience with the do-it-yourself gardening.
At the Festival they offer a Farm to Table Dinner, which will feature 3 Hors d’oeuvre stations and 5 delicious courses. All of these wonderful dishes will be prepared by local chefs using local suppliers. The dinner will be served under a tent on the lawn of the park, featuring music by local bluegrass musicians.

Here is your chance to see professional golfers in Orlando at the Children’s Miracle Network Classic. This years Classic will be headlined by Vijay Singh, a 34-time winner on the PGA TOUR. He will be playing with 128 of the world’s top golfers. They will be playing on Disney’s Magnolia and Palm Golf Courses. Spectators are invited to attend the event. You will enjoy the beauty of the Magnolia course designed by Joe Lee. The other course they will be playing is the Palm which is another course that uses its natural beauty to create a challenging course.
The classic runs from November 11-14th where great golfers come to Orlando to play in an exciting game.

The music of Rodgers & Hammerstein is coming to Orlando in South Pacific being performed at the Osceola Center until November 7th. You don’t want to miss this production of an extraordinary musical.

As Halloween approaches it’s time to figure out where there is to trick or treat around Orlando. Many places are offering trick or treating on Saturday October 30. If you are in downtown Orlando on Saturday you can stop by Lake Eola Park where your kids will be able to get treats from 10am to 4pm. Waterford Lakes Town Center will be decorated as a Haunted House where the kids can trick or treat on Saturday evening from 4pm-7pm.
If you are looking for something to do on Sunday here are a few things going on in the Orlando area. In the city of Altamonte Springs they are hosting their annual Halloween at Cranes Roost where local businesses will be sponsoring booths to hand out candy for the children. You can take the kids to Downtown Sanford you and your children can stroll down the historic streets and trick or treat at the downtown merchants from 6-8pm. Even your fur babies can have fun this Halloween with pet trick or treating and a costume contest at the Park Avenue Pet Costume Contest from 10am-3pm.
This autumn in Orlando Epcot is hosting the International Food and Wine Festival. As you walk along the World Showcase Promenade there will be special market places that will feature regional foods, wines and beers. Also featured this year are celebrity chefs who will be doing book signings, so make sure you check the schedule on your way in to the park. Don’t miss the Eat to Beat concert series where Starship will be performing this Friday October 29th starting at 5:15pm. Guest will enjoy the new taste form Belgium and South Korea.

Some mysteries things have happened in the past around Orlando you can learn about a few of them at the Osceola County Historical Society. As you are on your tour you will learn about Nick Pearce, who was a barber in Narocoosse who did more than just cut his customers hair. Legend has it that he was a murder who died in the Barber-Mizell feud. There was also a young school teacher in the area, who was hiding a very shocking past. Your tour guide will take you on an evening walking tour where you will encounter the “lost souls” of our area. So be prepared for some spine tingling fun, where you will also learn more about the mysteries past of the Orlando area.
The tour will take place on Saturday October 30th from 7-9pm, there will also be refreshments and snacks included.
