It seems these days that everyone is adding a room called a man cave to their homes. But what if you don’t have enough room for a man cave? What are you suppose to do then? Below are a few ideas on how to make yourself a man cave even if you don’t have much space to do so.
- If you don’t have the space for a regular sized man cave, such as a basement, why not use a walk in closet for the same purpose? Walk in closets can easily be made into a man cave by gutting them of their contents and adding lots of manly items. Just don’t forget a small television and chair to accommodate the man of your house!
- Another innovative way to make a man cave is to close off one half of your garage. If your man doesn’t mind giving up his parking space inside of the garage, let him know that he can have his man cave in that spot. You can separate the space with a creative partition or call in the pros to create a custom finished room in the garage space.
- If you happen to have a house that has more bedrooms that you actually need, why not make one of them a man cave?
- Another way to make a man cave in your home when you don’t really have the space to do so is to improvise into creating a blended space in a shared room of the house. Spice up part of your living or family room with the man cave necessities. Your man may not like this option as much as some of the others but if he is desperate for a man cave, you can create a nice space for him just about anywhere in the house.
These ideas should help to get you started thinking in the right direction about how to make a man cave for your man even if the space just simply isn’t available to build a full sized one. Let’s face it girls, men are not that hard to please, so do your best and it is likely he will be happy.

Spring has officially sprung and that means most of us are starting to get the itch to clean our homes. Below are a few spring cleaning tips for those of you who might be interested in doing it the natural way! These items are such that you likely already have them in your house so there will be no need to go out and purchase anything.
The number one item you likely already have in your house and that is perfect for spring cleaning is baking soda! Yes you read that right, baking soda! It has many uses such as the following:
- Clean the toilet using a bit of baking soda and a scrub brush
- Clean the inside of your oven using some baking soda mixed with vinegar and a rag
- To brighten up your laundry use half a cup of baking soda mixed with each load
- 1 cup baking soda with 1 cup vinegar will help to unclog a clogged up drain in your sinks
- Sprinkle some baking soda on your rugs and carpets, wait 15 min, then vacuum to freshen them
Another item that you likely already have on hand at home that can help make spring cleaning easy is vinegar. There are many uses for cleaning with vinegar such as the following:
- Mix vinegar with salt to get those pesky coffee stains out of your coffee mugs
- Spray vinegar in your bathroom for a good sanitization of each surface
- Believe it or not, let your socks soak in vinegar to freshen them. This is done by adding 1 cup vinegar to a pot of water and letting them soak overnight
- Use a bit of distilled white vinegar on our toothbrush to make your smile brighter.
- If you want your windows to shine and you don’t want to use regular window cleaner, use white vinegar mixed with water in a spray bottle then wipe clean with a paper towel.
Liquid dish soap is another great help in spring cleaning and my guess is you already have some of this too! Here are a few uses for liquid dish soap:
- Mop your floors with it! Mix a couple drops with a gallon of water
- Clean your granite countertops with some liquid dish soap mixed with warm water then dry with a towel.

Spring is here and that means that summer is right around the corner! Summertime brings with it many things but one of the awesome things about summer is that it means many meal prep times will move from inside of the kitchen to outside on the grill! Yum! You will have to do your part to get your grill ready for all the outdoor cooking that is about to begin! Below are a few ideas on how best to clean your grill for the upcoming season!
- The first place to start when beginning to clean your grill is to clean the grates. These can get quite dirty during the outdoor cooking season. If you were smart when the last season ended you cleaned them and wiped them down with cooking oil, however if you didn’t, there is still hope. One good and easy way to clean your dirty grill grates is to place them into your self-cleaning oven and let it do the work for you. Another way to get your grill grates clean is to simply put them in the dishwasher.
- Clean the burner tubes by simply brushing them and wiping them clean. Be sure not to use any metal brushes as these have been deemed unsafe if the metal pieces come off and get into your food.
- Clean the grease collection tray by scrubbing it with a clean damp cloth.
- If you happen to have a charcoal grill, your cleaning process will be a bit simpler than with a gas grill. Scrub the grill with a nylon brush and then clean the grates and that is it! If you have old charcoal simply throw it out and buy some new for the season.
These are just a few ideas on how to clean your grill to get it ready for the upcoming outdoor cooking season. The best way to clean your grill is honestly just to clean as you go. If you do your part to clean up after yourself after each and every meal you will have a much easier time when it comes time to get the grill out again for the next season. If you don’t do your part to clean as you go, at least now you have a few ideas on how to get rid of the grit and grime easily.

So you have your house on the market and you are eager and ready to sell it as quickly as possible? Here are a few tips for keeping your house ready to show at any given moment throughout the day or night.
- If you are a busy working person in society it is likely that you don’t have time to keep your house spic and span twenty four seven. However you CAN make the house look as if it is clean all the time by simply getting rid of some of the clutter. Two of the main rooms you should concentrate on to accomplish this are the bathrooms and the kitchen. Make sure that all counter space is clean and free from any clutter in each of these rooms. Also a good way to make the kitchen look less cluttered is to take any and all items you have posted on your refrigerator off while you are trying to sell your home.
- Another way to keep your house ready to show at any time is to clean eye catchers first. Items you should clean first are such things as the ceiling fans, floors, countertops, stovetops, ovens, trash cans and bathroom fixtures. These places can get dirty quickly and will be noticed by folks who come to tour your home so make sure they are clean at all times.
- Do a few extra things like adding a touch of color to each room with pillows to make the space pop. Also if there are any beds left unmade or any areas of the house that need a quick pick me up do your part to make that happen on a daily basis before you head out the door.
- Another tip for keeping your house ready to show at anytime might be to use an essential oil diffuser in the main room of the house so that it always smells fresh and clean.
These are just a few tips for keeping your house ready to show at any time of the day or night. You never know when you might get a call to show your house at the last minute and by doing these simple things you will always be ready. This doesn’t mean you will be guaranteed an offer by any means but it does mean that your chances may be greater!

Some Highlights:
- The concept of Supply & Demand is a simple one. The best time to sell something is when the supply of that item is low & the demand for that item is high!
- Anything under a 6-month supply is a Seller’s Market!
- There has not been a 6-months inventory supply since August 2012!
- Buyer Demand continues to outpace Seller Supply!

Working from home can be an amazing thing if you get the chance to do it. Working from home can open up an entirely new world to someone who has always had to work outside of them home. It can be extremely comfortable to work from home for many reasons; one being you can stay in your pajamas all day if you choose to do so. If you are someone who doesn’t mind spending the day alone away from other colleges then working from home might just be for you! Take a look at these few tips for working from home so that you will know more about whether or not you want to give it a try.
- The best way to work from home is to make space in your home that is specifically for working. If you let work spill over into other parts of your home you are more likely to lose paperwork and turn your home sanctuary into a stress filled place that no one wants to spend time in. Your home (even if you work in it) should be a place of rest and relaxation where you go to get away from it all. Keep it that way by using this first tip.
- Another tip for working from home is to set time boundaries for your work. If you work from a computer and you have a family that needs taking care of, it is best that you set your work schedule around your family time. This way you won’t end up losing out on quality family time by spending that time on your computer away from those you love. If it is possible spend only a certain designated time of the day working on your job. If you need to turn off work email notifications in order to accomplish this, so be it.
- Use technology to stay in touch with those you work with. When you work in an office and you have a question about your job or something that needs to be discussed, all you have to do is pop in to another office and talk about it. Working from home can sometimes cause communication gaps between you and those you are working for or with. Keeping those lines of communication open through email and or video chat is most beneficial and many times can be crucial to your job.
Again, working from home can be the best thing since sliced bread, just do your part to make sure it doesn’t overtake your everyday life.

Purchasing a home is a huge deal and can cost quite a bit of money. There are a few things in this world that can make people crazy and one of those is money. If you are thinking about purchasing a home with your best friend you may want to consider a few things first to make sure you are making the best decision for both of you. There are pros and cons to buying a home together and they are listed below for your consideration.
- One benefit of buying a home with your best friend is that there will be two of you signing on the loan. This makes many lenders very happy because they know that they have double the chance that the mortgage payment will be paid each month. Having two people instead of one signing the mortgage is better all the way around.
- Another benefit of buying a home with your best friend is that you will share the expenses. You can sit down together to figure out who is going to pay for what and then take the savings you will receive by doing this and put it toward something you both want or something you want for yourself. The beauty of this is that by sharing expenses you will likely have the money to share for fun things too.
- Buying a home with your best friend is a great way to gain equity. The longer you two live together the more equity you will be building in the home that you purchase. If you decide to sell the home one day in the future, you will be able to split the profits and start your new lives more easily than if you didn’t purchase a home together.
- One con to buying a home with your best friend might be the sheer rawness of moving in with someone hitting you in the face. You may be best friends but when you move in together there will likely be things you find that you don’t enjoy about the others company. A good way to keep this from causing any issue is to spend some time apart on a daily basis.
- Another downfall to buying a home with your “bestie” might be your debt to income ratio. If you both have your income tied up in the mortgage there might not be enough to quality for a new car loan if the need arises.
These are just a few of the things you should consider before purchasing a home with your best friend.

Let’s face it, we are all busy and we all typically look forward to relaxing after a hard day’s work once we arrive home! Can I get an Amen? Many times however, we come home to a house that can sometimes be less than relaxing. Whether it is the kids running around fighting with one another or the animals leaving us messes to clean up, there are many reasons why our homes can often times be less than relaxing. Below are listed a few tips to help make your home a more relaxing place regardless of what is going on around you.
- Placing a big comfortable chair in a quiet nook in your home with perhaps a blanket thrown over it can do a lot towards adding a relaxing comfy feel. Be sure to put this chair and blanket in an “out of the way” space such as a back bedroom so that you will be able to go there to escape the day.
- Another idea for making your home a more relaxing place is to add some fluffy white curtains to your patio or porch. Add a few pieces of outdoor furniture and a table or two as well. This will allow you an outdoor space in which you can retire to after a long hard day at work. These spaces are great for when the weather is good.
- Adding an upholstered headboard to your bed can make the entire room look more soft and serene. Also if you happen to have a television in your bedroom, take it out and put it somewhere else in the house. Your bedroom should be your sanctuary at all times.
- Another way to help make your home a more relaxing place is to add a speaker system throughout your house. This way you can play soft relaxing music and listen to it as you move from room to room.
- Much in the way that music can be used to make your home a more relaxing place, diffusing essential oils into your home can go a long way as well! If you don’t have a diffuser you should definably order one today!
These tips to make your home a more relaxing place are a good place to start! Once you do your part to make your home your sanctuary you will likely love the changes!

- DEPOSITS: There are very few acceptable opportunities for the deposit to be returned to the Buyer.
- Check the contract carefully to verify if there is a financing contingency. If there is one included pay close attention to the timeframe. Often, the time period is VERY SHORT.
- Just as in the traditional resale contract the new construction contract will require arbitration to resolve any issues that may arise.
- Builders NEVER guarantee a completion date. Prepare your Buyers to be ready to react quickly should the completion date be sooner than anticipated as well as be prepared for delays due to weather, materials, permits etc. Believe it or not, virtually every builder contract allows the builder TWO YEARS to complete the home.
- Most builders require the Buyer to close on the day the certificate of occupancy is obtained. The builder will make the borrower pay a fee PER DAY if they are not able to close when the builder is ready.
- Builders typically encourage the use of their preferred title company and lender(s). If their “preferred servicers” are selected then incentives and Buyer credits are often given at closing.
- In most contracts, the Buyer will be responsible for paying all closing costs.
- It is always a good idea for your Buyer to have an independent home inspector that is willing to check on the progress of the construction several times throughout the course of construction. It is imperative for the Buyer to notify the builder of any concerns immediately and keep a documented list of requested repairs or changes.
- Most builders provide a 10 year structural warranty and a 1 year limited warranty for building imperfections. A traditional home warranty (used for resale homes) are also available for years 2-5 to cover systems and appliances, but this coverage must be initiated at the time of closing.
- IMPORANT: No builder will EVER change one sentence, or Word, or even comma on their standard form contract. You can fill in blanks or change numbers and features, but that’s it.
- Remember the home does not have to be perfect to close. Prepare your buyers for this!!

Many houses these days tend to have very neutral colors in them. One reason for this is because painting your house neutral can sometimes make it easier to sell. If you plan to stay in your home for more than a few years, why not use a bit of color to brighten up your neutral home. Below is a list of a few colors you might want to try and where you might want to think about using them!
- You might think that magenta would be a bit bright to use as a wall color in your home, but you may want to give it a try! You don’t have to paint the entire room this color, why not just paint one wall magenta and let the others be a neutral color. This will help make your room a bit brighter than it otherwise might be as it adds a bit of pop and pizzazz.
- Another color you may not have thought about adding to your neutral home is purple. A good place to use a deep purple color in your home to brighten it up a bit is a bathroom or hallway. Deep purples can add a touch of class to an otherwise drab area of your home.
- You can also use blue and shades of blue to help brighten things up a bit. A good place to use blue paint in your home would be the dining room, living room or den. There are quite a few different shades of blue to choose from these days but don’t be afraid to choose a bright blue to make a room stand out.
- Green is another color that can help to brighten up your neutral home. You can choose from shades of green all the way from forest green to lime green. It may be a good idea to use a more calming forest green for an office space and maybe a lime green for your child’s room. Greens are also good for sunrooms as they tend to help bring a feel of the outdoors inside.
These are just a few ways to use color to brighten up your neutral home. Hopefully it has got you thinking of how you want to bring more color into your life and what rooms you want to add the color to.
